About
Postdoc at the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of the University of Amsterdam for the ERC-funded research project "Consuming Beauty". This project, led by Prof. dr. Giselinde Kuipers, aims to develop a transnational sociology of beauty by analyzing the creation, production, diffusion, reception and social effects of standards/ideals of human beauty.
My part of the project focuses on the ideas of the general public concerning female and male beauty in six different European countries. I therefore conduct research on the reception of the beauty ideals propagated by the international modeling industry (among other sources and media) by different social groups in the UK, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and Turkey.
