About
Dr Pablo Valdivia is Assistant Professor in Spanish Literature at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. He was born in Granada (Spain) in 1981. He has degrees in Hispanic Studies, Comparative Literature, Critical Theory and Music Studies, a MA in European Literature and Theater and a PhD in Philosophy in Hispanic Studies.
His approach to literature is transnational and complementary to another artistic discourses such as theater, art or music. He does not believe in discipline boundaries and pursuits an integration of all kind of knowlegde under the broad label of Humanities.
He believes a good academic must be an excellent fund raiser, great manager, innovative researcher and an approachable and inspiring teacher.
He is working at the moment in a documentary film on the Spanish exile playwright José Ricardo Morales and preparing an academic edition of Antonio Muñoz Molina's "Sefarad" that will be published by Cátedra.
